The main instigators of the proposal were our Dutch counterparts Gortemaker Algra Feenstra. They brought together the team which included us and our Estonian collaborators, Studio Punktiir (Landscape Design). The estimated gross area of the proposed hospital is 127,000 m2 and it will be built in the Lasnamäe district of Tallinn City.

Our proposal was based on the pavilion model of hospital planning, where different functional buildings are connected by a central spine from which all traffic diverges. The design took shape from a strong intention to integrate the landscape within the hospital complex. The proposed park in the Northwest portion of the site extends into the built-mass creating a park-like environment with healing gardens, walking paths and a multitude of landscape elements. The landscape design preserves most of the existing natural environment and adds six thematic gardens and a promenade.
