The task was to design a day care centre in a rural landscape for 192 children entirely built of timber. The building mass is compact, two stories high with a pitched roof and resembles a large barn in the middle of an open field. Six groups of children are placed on two floors in the gables of the building and between them are all the communal spaces including the central hall, the dining area and the group work spaces.
