The commission consisted of providing land-use alternatives and a general plan for an old sports field and school area by the shore of the river Kiiminki and developing it into a diverse and livable housing area. This new area, close to the center of the hamlet of Haukipudas, also improves the sequence of outdoor public spaces by recreating the riverside park and emphasizing some important existing natural features.
