This commission consisted of designing the urban concept for a new sub-center for the city of Järvenpää located around a new railway station. The station will be named Ainola after the nearby home of Jean Sibelius. The role of the area in its context, its urban character and efficiency in terms of floor area to be built, were studied. Based on the results of the study, the decision was taken to develop the area as a contemporary Finnish wooden town where external areas could also be used as venues for the annual music festival in Järvenpää.
